The word 'barakah' in the Arabic language means abundant blessings. As such, Fountain of Barakah's main mission is to be a fountain of abundant blessings and be of service to anyone it has the honor of serving.

The Fountain of Barakah parenting support group was established with the intention of supporting the family unit: the child, the parents, and the family as a whole. In order to raise healthy children, we need guidance and support for parents. We need companionship and community. Like our ancestors and grandparents, we need the support of a vibrant village to help raise our children. As parents and teachers, our main job is to nurture and guide the children that we have been entrusted with. But that's the area we often lack knowledge, support, and confidence in

Fountain of Barakah is here to change that. We recognize that parents need support, mentorship, guidance, and a community rooted in values that aim to connect and support children in a loving and compassionate way. As parents, we all yearn to discipline and respond to our children in a kind and firm way. Often times, we just do not know how to strike that balance.

Fountain of Barakah uses various modalities, techniques, and tools to mentor parents to engage with children by creating a sense of belonging and significance for everyone in the family. We believe that children will respond positively when they are treated with dignity and respect. The mentorship programs and classes offered at Fountain of Barakah will equip parents with positive discipline tools, through parenting courses and workshops, so that generational cycles of abuse and neglect can be mitigated so that we feel empowered to respond to our children in healthy ways.

Our children can grow to learn effective life skills and be role models for our society when we create a safe and responsive environment for them to grow in. While we do not offer any sort of therapy services at Fountain of Barakah, our goal is to coach and mentor parents and teachers in order to deeply reflect, engage, and learn to create healthy social-emotional environments for children.
